Voor deze wanten heb je nodig:
Ca 100 gram Merino (ik heb voor deze wanten gebruikt: Jaeger Matchmaker, kleur SH 900) en enkele restanten wit, groen en geel.

4 Naalden zonder knop 3.5 mm
Veiligheidsspeld
Stopnaald.

Opzetten met de hoofdkleur 48 steken. Verdeel ze over 3 naalden als volgt: 12/24/12 steken.

Stekenverhouding: 23 steken en 32 naalden is 10 x 10 cm

Brei 20 rondes in boordsteek – 2 recht, 2 averecht.

Vervolg met 2 naalden recht.



Brei recht volgens schema – het schema toont de helft van het patroon en de zigzaglijntjes worden gebreid in wit.

Na de bovenste zigzaglijn: 10 rondes recht breien in de hoofdkleur.

De duim: Plaats voor de rechterwant de eerste steken van naald 3 op een veiligheidsspeld, en voor de linkerwant de laatste 8 steken van naald 1 op een veiligheidsspeld. Maak in de daaropvolgende ronde voor de duimboog 4 omslagen, en brei die in de ronde erna recht.
Brei recht tot de pink volledig is bedekt.

Minderingen:
1 – Naald 1: Brei tot 3 steken voor het einde, 2 steken samenbreien, 1 recht.
Naald 2: 1 recht, 2 steken overgehaald samenbreien, doorbreien tot 3 steken voor het einde, 2 steken samenbreien, 1 recht.
Naald 3: 1 recht, 2 steken overgehaald samenbreien, doorbreien tot het einde van de naald.
2 – Gehele ronde recht breien.
Herhaal deze twee stappen tot de middelvinger is bedekt. Knip dan de draad af op 15 cm vanaf de want, haal deze met behulp van de stopnaald door de resterende steken en sluit de bovenkant van de hand, door de draad goed aan te trekken, de naald naar de binnenkant door te steken, en goed af te hechten.

De duim: Neem de steken op van de veiligheidsspeld. Neem in de duimboog 12 steken op. Brei deze 20 steken in het rond, tot de duim volledig is bedekt. Knip dan de draad af op 15 cm vanaf de want, haal deze met behulp van de stopnaald door de resterende steken en sluit de bovenkant van de duim, door de draad goed aan te trekken, de naald naar de binnenkant door te steken, en goed af te hechten. De draadjes aan de binnenkant van de want afhechten. Brei de tweede want. Succes en veel draagplezier.

For this pair of mittens you’ll need:
Approximately 100 grams Merino (I used: Jaeger Matchmaker, colour SH 900 (2 skeins of 50 grams) some left-over yarn in white, yellow and green.

4 double pointed needles 3.5 mm (US #5)
A piece of waste yarn to place stitches for the thumb on.
Darning-needle
Gauge: 23 stitches and 32 rows is 4 x 4 inch

Cast on with the main colour: 48 stitches. Divide them over 3 needles as following: 12/24/12 stitches.

Ribbing 20 rounds – knit 2, purl 2 .

Continue to knit 2 rows.



Knit according to the pattern – the zigzag lines are done in white.
After the upper zigzag line: knit 10 rounds in the main colour.






Thumb placement: Place for the right mitten the first eight stitches of needle 3 on a piece of waste yarn, place for the left mitten the last eight stitches of needle 1 on a piece of waste yarn.
In the next round, add for the thumb bow 4 yarn over’s. Knit these in the next round.
Continue to knit in the main colour until the little finger is covered.
Decreases: Step 1
Needle 1: Knit until 3 stitches before the end. Knit 2 stitches together, knit one.
Needle 2: Knit 1, SSK (slip, slip, knit), knit until 3 stitches before the end. Knit 2 stitches together, knit one.
Needle 3: Knit 1, SSK (slip, slip, knit), knit to the end of the needle.
Step 2: Knit the entire round.

Repeat these two steps until the middle finger is covered. Cut yarn at approximately 3 inch from your work. Work the thread with help of the darning needle through the stitches and pull the thread to close the hand. Push your needle to the inside, turn the mitten and fixate the stitches.

Thumb: Pick up the stitches that were set aside and place them on the needle. Pick up 12 additional stitches and divide these over 2 needles. Knit these 20 stitches in main colour until the thumb is covered. Cut yarn at approximately 3 inch from your work. Work the thread with help of the darning needle through the stitches and pull the thread to close the thumb. Push your needle to the inside, turn the mitten and fixate the stitches. Work away threads. Knit second mitten. Enjoy warm hands!

Baby socks

Baby sock
For babies age 6 weeks-3months

You’ll need: a left over ball sock yarn, i.e. Opal or Trekking XXL
Double Pointed Needles US #1, 2.5 mm

Cast on: 40 st. Divide these stitches over 3 needles 10/20/10 st.
Cuff: k2, p2 for 40 rounds. If desired the cuff can be made shorter.

Heel: Knit the stitches of needle no 1 on needle 3. These 20 st will form the heel side of the sock. Purl 1 row.
Needle 1: slip 1, k 1
Needle 2: slip 1st stitch purl wise, purl the entire row.

Work these two needles an additional 8 times, so in total 18 rows are knitted.

To turn the heel:
1: K11, ssk, k1, turn
2: slip 1 purl wise, p 3, purl 2 tog, p1, turn
3: slip 1, k 4, ssk, k1, turn
4. slip 1 purl wise, p 5, purl 2 tog, p1, turn
5: slip 1, k 6, ssk, k1, turn
6: slip 1 purl wise, p 7, purl 2 tog, p1, turn
7: slip 1, k 8, ssk, k1, turn
8: slip 1 purl wise, p 9, purl 2 tog, p1, turn
9: slip 1, k 9, ssk, turn
10: slip 1 purl wise, p 8, purl 2 tog, turn

There are 10 st left on the needle. Knit these 10 st and pick up along both sides of the heel flap 13 stitches.
Needle 2 is knitted in ribbing, starting p2, k2.
Divide the 36 st equally over needle 1 and 3.
Decrease:
Nld 1: knit until 3 st before the end, k 2 tog, k1
Nld 2: Ribbing: p2, k2
Nld 3: knit 1, ssk, knit until end.

Repeat these needles an additional 7 times, until you have 40 st in total divided over 3 needles.
Continue to knit needle 1 and 3, and rib needle 2 until the foot has reached a length of 3 inch / 7 ½ cm.
Toe decreases:
Nld 1: knit until 3 st before the end, k 2 tog, k1
Nld 2: knit 1, ssk, knit until 3 st before the end, k 2 tog, k1
Nld 3: knit 1, ssk, knit until end.

Repeat these decreases an additional 4 times. Knit the stitches of needle 1 on needle 3. Cast off the remaining stitches. Work away threads and knit second sock.


Baby sok

Voor babies vanaf 6 weken (tot 3 mnd)

Nodig: een restant Opal of andere sokkenwol, naalden zonder knop 2.5 mm (US #1)

Opzetten: 40 steken. Verdelen over 3 naalden (10/20/10)

Boord: 2 re/2av, 40 rondes

Hiel:
Brei de steken van naald 1 op die van naald 3 in patroon.
Brei de teruggaande naald averecht.
Brei de volgende 18 toeren als volgt:
Nld 1: 1 afhalen, 1 recht
Nld 2: 1 av afhalen, rest averecht.

Het keren van de hiel:
1. 11 recht, 2 st overgehaald samenbreien, 1 recht. Keren.
2. 1 averecht afhalen, 3 averecht, 2 averecht samenbreien, 1 averecht. Keren.
3. 1 afhalen, 4 recht, 2 st overgehaald samenbreien, 1 recht. Keren.
4. 1 averecht afhalen, 5 averecht, 2 averecht samenbreien, 1 averecht. Keren
5. 1 afhalen, 6 recht, 2 st overgehaald samenbreien, 1 recht. Keren
6. 1 averecht afhalen, 7 averecht, 2 averecht samenbreien, 1 averecht. Keren
7. 1 afhalen, 8 recht, 2 st overgehaald samenbreien, 1 recht. Keren
8. 1 averecht afhalen, 9 averecht, 2 averecht samenbreien, 1 averecht. Keren
9. 1 afhalen, 9 recht, 2 st overgehaald samenbreien. Keren
10. 1 averecht afhalen, 8 averecht, 2 averecht samenbreien. Keren.

Er zijn nu 10 steken over. Brei deze recht en neem aan weerszijden van de hielflap 13 steken op. Brei de steken van naald 2 in boordsteek, (begin 2 averecht, 2 recht)
Verdeel de steken voor de hiel evenredig over naald 1 en 3.

Minder in elke toer aan weerszijden in naald 1 en 3 1 steek, door deze samen te breien. Doe dit gedurende 8 rondes, zodat er uiteindelijk op naald 1 10 steken staan, en op naald 3 ook 10 steken staan. Naald 2 wordt in boordsteek gebreid.
Brei door tot een lengte is bereikt van 7 ½ cm (3 inch)

Minder voor de teen: aan weerszijden 5 x 2 steken. Keer de sok binnenste buiten en kant de steken samengebreid af. Tweede sok breien, draadjes afhechten.
